  2. Purpose & Goals • Learn and develop skills necessary to create Web Pages using NovusEDU • Create and store Pictures and Files to use in future NovusEDU Web Pages • Learn Terminology unique to NovusEDU to Navigate and Create Web Pages • Create 5 NovusEDU Web Pages

  3. Planning My Site • Target Audience: Students, Faculty, Parents • One page needs to be Home Page • How much Updating do you want to do • Make it User Friendly • Use Images and Graphics appropriate to your Subject/Topic • Sample Sites:Joanne StowersRobin Ladd

  4. Finding Your Way • Prepare yourself • Upload all Images & Files • Don’t be afraid to Change Your Mind • Practice/Explore the Novus Site • Practice with the Back Button & the Left Nav Bar

  5. NovusEDU Login Screen • Use the Link above to Login to your Novus Web Site • Change your Password

  6. NovusEDU Home Edit Page • This is the Working Page for Novus • Explore the Links in the Left Nav Bar • Notice the Text Box in the Center and the View Button

  7. Preparation • Upload or Copy Images • Picture Management • Private Library • Upload New Picture (Browse to Folder/Image – Upload) • Don’t forget to type Description (Text appears on mouse rollover)

  9. Preparation • Upload or Copy Files • File Management • Private Library • Upload New File (Browse to Folder/File – Upload) • Don’t forget to type Description (Will become File Name)

  11. Design Elements • Most are Fixed – No Changes • Don’t change Title or Description • Begin with Site Name Change • Unique to your Class • Use Images and Graphics appropriate to your Subject/Topic

  12. Design Elements • Edit ln-your name (LNB) • Edit sn-your name (Site Name)

  13. Create New Page • Click Create New Page • Type the Name for your Page in the Text Box • Type in the Title, some Keywords and the Page Description • Click Create New Page

  14. Edit New Page • Click Choose Layout • Review the different Layouts and pick one that seems to work for you • Edit the Content on your Layout • Preview your New Page • Continue this process until all your Pages are Created

  16. Left Nav Bar • In Design Elements. Where you direct visitors to each of your Pages • You can have Links to Pages/Websites outside your Novus Pages • Include a Link to Google, the Media Center and FCAT Explorer • The Home Link is to your Index Page

  19. Success • Pages are submitted for Publication • Should be Published by 7 AM nextSchool Day • Review your Pages & Hyperlinks • Check your Email link • Tell all your friends

  20. Changes • You can now Edit the content • When Viewing Published Pages youcan make Changes • Pages need to be Republished • See Success above • Begin next series of Pages
