PPDR Workshop • Objectives • Examine need for standards in ETS capabilities, operations and requirements • Improve the understanding of user requirements • Provide overview of technical work • Prepare an action list for standardization and project management • Sessions • TDR Requirements & Considerations • ITU Work on TDR • TDR Requirements Definition • TDR Interworking Requirements • TDR Network Aspects • TDR Multimedia Communications • TDR Performance and Security Considerations • Panel Discussion of TDR Aspects and Issues Conclusions • Excellent opportunity to improve understanding • Need more insight into Government perspectives • Users’ needs are multi-dimensional (location, roles, etc.) • Need better mapping between requirements and standards (government, industry, operators) • Coordination and harmonization of standards work across Fora/Consortia recognized as a key issue • Workshop supported the creation of a Partnership Co-ordination Panel (PNP) to help coordinate the TDR standardization work GSC-8, OTTAWA
