School Website Kaylie Ines and Kasey wells
First as a class • We evaluated our current school website. • Looked at other school websites • We decided • Wasn’t enough color • Wanted video and music • More pictures • Less adult looking • It was boring
As a small group • We brainstormed ideas for new website • Something were not debatable • Like contact info. • Administration • Mission and royal expectations • Navigation (could choose were and what kind) • Drew different layouts • Decided on which layout to use
Starting to create • Decided titles we needed • Pleasant Valley Middle School • Administration • Photoshop Elements • Paw prints were a Photoshop brush we found online http://www.obsidiandawn.com/animal-tracks-photoshop-gimp-brushes
Using Dreamweaver 8 • Created new file called newindex • Reason we did this, until we were finish we did not want to published to the web. • We could still view as webpage just not link for other to see. • We wanted to view it in Internet explorer because it looks different in Dreamweaver.
Starting the Design • We created tables to help organize were to put different elements of the home page. • We went with three columns numerous rows to give us plenty of space.
Insert image Save to web server Give a alt tag for all image
Slide Show • Kasey used Slide.com to create a short video. • We wanted it to be fun • Had to be short so website won’t take long to load. • http://www.slide.com/
After inserting all the elements • Things we wanted to change • Paws for bullets • Color changed on navigation • Mrs. Hauff wants us to change title so the fonts are consistent but we like it how it is.

Future Plans • Redesign the rest of the school website.
