Identify the purpose and type of documents produced utilizing desktop publishing software. • Desktop publishing is about laying out things on page. It is not intended for creating text. • Desktop Publisher documents are easier to layout, and so better for things like newsletters where the layout is important. • You have full control over what’s printed on a page, where it’s printed, how it’s printed, and how printing is handled over multiple pages.
Desktop Publishing vs Word Processing • Although word processing programs can create the same types of documents, desktop publishing software includes the key elements involved in producing these products: typesetting, page layout, and graphic design. • www.ncwiseowl.org/kscope/techknowpark/RaceTrk/Advantages.html
