  2. Objectives Understand the benefits of features used within interactive multimedia products, to users, Know key areas where interactive multimedia products are used and why they are better at delivering information than more traditional methods.

Control… - mouse, touch (hand, stylus), keyboard, control pad, joystick, speech Interactive Activities - drag and drop - quizzes Navigation - buttons - rollover effect - restart game / return home - menus / submenus Frames??? - used behind the scenes - usual for developing don’t know if in final product Video - Used to liven up / add explanation - can control video - play, pause, FF, RW IMMP FEATURES Text - standard text (can be formatted) - Moving text – marquee or karaoke style frequently used Inputs - text / numbers / select - enter name / something - select character Sound - Narration (speech), sound effects, music (backing track) - control of sounds – play, pause etc. Animation - motion paths - transitions - entrance / exit effects - timelines - GIFFs - Music POP UPS - something appears when hover / click on another object Colour Scheme - Bright? Bold? Cartoony? - Need to appeal to audience Images – Content / Navigation / Backgrounds - line drawings, pictures, charts, graphs, scans, photos, - interactive images (image maps)
