Conformance, Interoperability, and Reference Implementations • Oasis – spec submission process 2 week submission, committee, 30 public, 30 voting (changing in fall) • 3 companies committed to implementation- attest successfully using it. If implement it, also attest satisfy any licenses under IPR statements. TC decides if define what ‘successfully use’ means. Not required to demonstrate interoperability. • Get IPR lined up • Ensure spec is implementable and clear enough for interoperable implementations. • We should consider interoperability testing before committee spec goes final
Timelines • Jan 2004 for Committee specification • Scope of spec – Of and Using • Timelines • Draft specs by Oct to get agreement on for Jan • Get Requirements DONE and use case identified by July F2F • Spec outline for July F2F • Extend mtgs to two hours – vote for new time, next week starting at 8. • Modeling input for WS? 1 sample model binding for ws manageability (in cim?)
Next Face to Face • July: TOG is in Boston anyways on July M, 21-25 • W3C Desc/Arch – 28-30, 30-1 Toronto • (possible on Arch days 28-30)? • BEA or Sun to host: July 16,17,18 (W-F)? • (missing Igor, Fred) • Aug 4-6? (away tog dates)
