  1. FORMULA ONE Presentation Dmitry Andreev 7a class Учитель: Коротаева Т.М. Lipetsk 2010.

  2. Formula One, also known as Formula 1 or F1, and currently officially referred to as the FIA Formula One World Championship, is the highest class of auto racing sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The "formula" in the name refers to a set of rules to which all participants' cars must comply. The F1 season consists of a series of races, known as Grand Prix, held on purpose-built circuits, and to a lesser extent, former public roads and closed city streets. The results of each race are combined to determine two annual World Championships, one for the drivers and one for the constructors, with racing drivers, constructor teams, track officials, organizers, and circuits required to be holders of valid Super Licenses, the highest class racing license issued by the FIA.

  3. HISTORY The Formula One series has its roots in the European Grand Prix Motor Racing of the 1920s and 1930s. The "formula" is a set of rules which all participants and cars must meet. Formula One was a new formula agreed after World War II in 1946, with the first non-championship races being held that year. A number of Grand Prix racing organizations had laid out rules for a World Championship before the war, but due to the suspension of racing during the conflict, the World Drivers' Championship was not formalized until 1947. The first world championship race was held at Silverstone, United Kingdom in 1950. A championship for constructors followed in 1958. National championships existed in South Africa and the UK in the 1960s and 1970s. Non-championship Formula One events were held for many years but, due to the rising cost of competition, the last of these occurred in 1983. The sport's title, Formula One, indicates it is intended to be the most advanced and most competitive of the FIA's racing formulae.

  7. VitalyPetrov Vitaly Aleksandrovich Petrov was born September 8, 1984 in Vyborg is a Russian Formula One driver for the Renault F1 team. He is known as "Vyborg Rocket" in Russia. By competing in the 2010 Bahrain Grand Prix, he is the first Russian driver to take part in the Formula One World Championship. He currently resides in Valencia, Spain. Petrov was linked to joining Sauber, Renault F1 and Campos for the 2010 season. He was announced as a Renault driver on 31 January and thus he has become the first Russian driver in the Formula One World Championship (Igor Troubetzkoy raced a Ferrari Formula One car in 1948). He has been signed for a one-year deal, with an option for a further two. He was very close to signing for Campos but he felt Renault was the best option for him. He also mentioned that he had no major sponsors from Russia backing him just his dad and some of his friends.Petrov states that his goal is to start scoring points by mid-season. His teammate for his debut season will be Robert Kubica. After qualifying seventeenth, Petrov's first race ended prematurely when the team found his right-front suspension strut to be damaged, which the Russian suspected to have been caused by hitting a kerb too hard. He had been chasing Rubens Barrichellofor tenth place and a World Championship point at the time of the incident. He finished his first race at the Chinese Grand Prix, and in doing so, scored his first F1 points, as he finished in seventh position.

  8. Michael Schumacher Michael Schumacher was born 3 January 1969 is a Formula One racing driver, currently driving for Mercedes GP. He is a seven-time World Champion and according to the official Formula One website is "statistically the greatest driver the sport has ever seen“ he holds many of the formula's driver records, including most championships, race victories, fastest laps, pole positions, points scored and most races won in a single season – 2004. In 2002 he became the only driver in the sport to complete an entire season finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in all races. After beginning with go-karts, Schumacher won German drivers championships in Formula König and Formula Three, before joining Mercedes in the World Sportscar Championship. After one Mercedes-funded race for the Jordan Formula One team, Schumacher signed as a driver for the Benetton Formula One team in 1991. After winning consecutive championships with Benetton in 1994/5, Schumacher moved to Ferrari in 1996 and won another five consecutive drivers' titles with them from 2000–2004. Schumacher retired from Formula One driving in 2006, staying with Ferrari as an advisor. After an aborted attempted comeback for Ferrari as cover for the injured Felipe Massa, Schumacher signed a 3 year contract to drive for the new Mercedes GP team in 2009. Schumacher is the only German to have won the Formula One championship. Off the track, Schumacher is an ambassador for UNESCO and a spokesman for driver safety. He has been involved in numerous humanitarian efforts throughout his life and donated tens of millions of dollars to charity.Michael and his younger brother Ralf Schumacher are the only brothers to win races in Formula One, and they were the first brothers to finish 1st and 2nd in the same race, in Montreal in 2001, and again in 2003.

  9. Jenson Button Jenson Alexander Lyons Button was born 19 January 1980 is a British Formula One driver currently signed to McLaren Mercedes, and is the reigning Formula One World Drivers' Champion. He first drove in Formula One in the 2000 season, with the Williams team, switching in 2001 to Benetton, which in 2002 became Renault F1. After two years with the Enstone-based squad, he moved to BAR in 2003. They were subsequently renamed Honda for the 2006 season, during which Button won his first Grand Prix in Hungary, on 6 August 2006, after 113 races. Following the withdrawal of Honda from the sport in December 2008, he was left without a drive for the 2009 season, until Ross Brawn led a management buyout of the team in February 2009, and Button suddenly found himself in a highly competitive, Mercedes-engined car. He went on to win six of the first seven races of the 2009 season, equaling a record achieved by only two other drivers: Michael Schumacher and Jim Clark. At the Brazilian Grand Prix, he amassed enough points over his rivals to secure the 2009 World Drivers' Championship, while also helping Brawn GP to secure the World Constructors' Championship in its maiden season.
