Mentoring with Kristi Later I came back to mentor Kristi using my scavenger hunts. She was very excited about this writing prompt site. WritingFix
Observation with Michelle Boer • Sioux Falls Christian Schools
Mrs. Boer uses her SmartBoard everyday! • She uses it for everyday tasks as well as teaching.
7th graders, graphing calculators, and me! (help!!!) • Mrs. Boer’s room is a fun place to be.
Jeopardy for review • She used PowerPoint to create the game
Mentoring with Mr. Fopma I taught my five lessons in Mr. Fopma’s 7th and 8th grade language arts classes. I also shared my scavenger hunts with him. In one of my lessons, I took the students to visuwords, an online graphical dictionary. He liked this site and the Writing Fix site.
Mentoring Mrs. Shives, SFC social studies teacher I was happy to mentor Mrs. Shives because I had designed my scavenger hunt for various curricular areas. This newspaper clipping generator was appealing to her (as well as to Mr. Fopma). I also found a great site about ancient Egypt that she enjoyed looking at. newspaper clipping generator
Observing at Chester Area Elementary School • Chester's homepage
Summary I enjoyed my mentoring experiences and found that I knew more than I thought I did. I also enjoyed my observations. Lots of the teachers had problems with their technology, but they dealt with it (think Plan B!) One of the best experiences was watching 4- year-olds at Chester try to help the teacher with the SmartBoard!
