  2. Physical Characteristics • The Bali Mynah has white feathers with powder blue skin around the eyes. • The have dandelion colored beaks with very small legs and claws.

  3. The Island of Bali • The Bali Mynah is the only bird native to Bali so that is where most of the birds are found. • They like tropical a climate, which is around 95 degrees Fahrenheit. • Their habitat is tropical forests.

  4. Behavior • The Bali Mynah is usually very friendly. • They are omnivores which means they eat meat and plants. • Natural enemies include monkeys, lizards, and birds of prey.

  5. Reason the Bali Mynah is Endangered • Deforestation is happening rapidly in Bali so Mynahs are losing their habitat. • The main reason these birds are endangered is because of illegal pet trade. • Illegal pet trade is when people sell wild animals as exotic pets.

  6. Protection Efforts • We are trying to reduce the amount of trees that are being cut down in Bali. • Also, a couple of years ago a warehouse was discovered with over 50 mynahs in it. • The owners of the warehouse were arrested and the birds were kept in captivity for research.
