Parental Involvement • You are the role models • Simple changes go a long way • Increase physical activity • Decrease TV/video games/computer time • Have your own family fun night • Participate in the Whoa! Slow! Go! at home
Fundraisers • Condensing the fundraisers or focusing on the ones that generate big revenue • Not sure how fundraisers are going to be with the economy • Need to budget carefully

October • Taubenslag – no admission charge – donation table – cont. to sell pictures • Red Ribbon Week – more details next slide • Make a Difference Day/Week – more details next slide • Pumpkin Seed contest • First PTA Dance • Classroom initiative begins
October • Red Ribbon Week – Purchase a this packet that can be handed out $70. Programs about cyber bullying and bullying for students and parents
October • Make a Difference Day (change to week) • Purchase these bracelets and give to teachers to hand out when they see students doing something good. • On the spot recognition • Cost $99 for 100
November • Bylaws renewal is due 11/13/11 • Bake Sale • Reflections
December • Holiday Shoppe (still open for chair) • Poinsettia Sale • Giant Stocking Raffle • Winter Party • Ornament Swap
Ornament Swap • Bring one ornament (max. $10) wrapped – Not tagged • Pick numbers out of hat • First person picks ornament, second person can pick an ornament or take an ornament that has been previously opened, and so forth • Bring some sort of finger dessert for swapping
January • Family Fun Night (Dance contest, Hula Hoop contest, Jump Rope contest) • Begin scholarship planning Chair positions still available for Scholarships and Family Fun Night
February • Founder’s Day Dinner • PTA Valentine’s Dance • Valentine’s Party
March • Dr. Seuss Night • Blood Drive • Tricky Tray – end of March. First to do in area and not competing with other organizations. People want to get out after long winter.
April • Earth Day – need ideas • School Elections • Administrative Day • Spring Fundraiser – need ideas
May • Field Day (shirts and Icees) • Teacher Appreciation Week • Nurse’s Week • Schoolkidz
June • Scholarships • Year End Staff Luncheon • Ice Cream Social – 2 days with some physical activities included – done by Hospitality Committee • Graduation • Class winners of Healthy initiative
Additions • Participate in Day of Play sponsored by NICK. Held in Washington, DC. Could do our own and see if another organization would like to participate.
More Additions • Whoa! Slow! And Go! initiative. • Applied for grant • Poster in cafeteria • Discusses what foods are special occasion, moderation and eat more of.
Convention • Now in Bridgewater, NJ • 2 Delegates • PTA will pay for 2 delegates $50/day/person • Floor is open for nominees for delegates • Will vote in Oct. • Any one is welcome to attend
Open Chairs • If you are interested in any of the open chairs, please see any board member • We need your help!
Committee Chairs • Please make some sort of guideline for your committee by the end of the year • Assist the next chair in taking over the committee • Also assists with consistency • If you continue to chair the committee, at some point make a guideline
