The Trends Dr. Tim Elmore, A New Wave: Welcome Generation iY (2008)
An Alarming U.S. Statistic • Builders: 65% evangelical believers • Boomers: 35% evangelical believers • Gen X: 16% evangelical believers • Gen Y: 4% evangelical believers What will be OUR response? Thom S. Rainer, The Bridger Generation (1997 Nashville Publishing)
A Few Conclusions • Most of us in this room are not in the 4/14 window — Reaching the 4/14 is cross-cultural ministry • If we do not strategically respond to this crisis in the 4/14 window, in 20 years, crisis MAY become tragedy • The task ahead is BIGGER than strategy, methodology and best practices – we must BECOME a generation of prayer for the 4/14 window What will be the testimony of the next generation?
