PPCC Students – Who We Serve • 22,000 Students • 94% Colorado Residents + Military • 1/3 of our students are enrolled fulltime and 2/3 are part time students • 29% of students are minorities • 58% of our students are female • 63% First Generation • Top Transfer Destination is UCCS • 1/3 of PPCC Students are Enrolled in a Developmental Course

  3. Fitting School and Life • 46% work 20 hours a week • 30% work full-time • 54% are primary caregivers for dependents • More than 4,000 military & veterans

  4. Putting People to Work • Over the past 10 years PPCC has awarded 15,608 Associates Degrees • Over the past 10 years PPCC has awarded 6,830 Certificates. • This past year we awarded 1,045 Associates Degrees and 1,083 Certificates

  5. Measures of Success • 3-Year Graduation Rate – 20.5% • 3-Year Graduation + Transfer Rate – 40% • Remedial Course Completion – 65%

Measures of Success • Improve capacity of students to creatively solve complex problems. • Ability to find, analyze, understand, and act on multiple sources of information. • Develop ability to communicate effectively with others. • Practice working successfully in teams. • Understand the basic tenants and responsibilities of citizenship. • Provide a base of technical knowledge to support entry into career paths.

  16. Of all Colorado 9th graders – 30% will not complete high school. Of Colorado’s high school graduates less than 50% will enroll in college within two years.
