Insert heading here. Project Objective • The objective is to complete the allocation of standard rural addresses for all occupied rural properties in incorporated areas of the state in 2011. High bushfire and emergency service response risk areas are the priority.
Background • • Joint state local government initiative • Many benefits and beneficiaries – can save lives • Support information for 2011 Census • Part of National Addressing standard and agenda • Implementation commenced 2008
Address rollout status • All 49 rural Councils committed • Outback areas planned –end 2012 • 95% road naming issues resolved • many were unnamed • many were confused • duplicates removed • 99% provisional addresses complete • 20,000 of 50,000 addresses released • signage advanced • high bushfire risk areas priority • central address register created • Australia Post matching postal clients • Now for Councils to release addresses • State to support until end 2011. .

Address maintenance • • Road names officially Gazetted and shown on address signage • Address information will flow into official address data bases, GPS mapping systems etc • Don’t change a road name once assigned • Notify LSG when new addresses created via web site • www.landservices.sa.gov.au/3Government/Local/councilnotifications.asp
