Major Events • Gaza Strip – Hamas and other terrorist organizations continue to fire rockets and mortar shells against southern Israel. In response to the ongoing rocket fire, the IDF responded with IAF pinpoint attacks against terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip, particularly against tunnels which are used for weapons smuggling in Rafah. It should be noted that Israel will not agree to the renewed strengthening of the Hamas and a rehabilitation of its military capabilities with the assistance of the radical axis, led by Iran. The international community is required to carry an active role in preventing the military buildup of Hamas, and in halting the Iranian and Syrian involvement. • In spite of the ongoing terror activity, the crossings remain open for the transfer of supplies into the Gaza Strip. During the past two weeks over 35, 000 tons of supplies were transferred into Gaza. • West Bank – In spite of the Israeli willingness to continue taking positive measures (security and economic), including the removal of roadblocks, the terrorists exploit the situation in order to execute terror attacks, smuggle and manufacture improvised weapons, as well as pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails. This is further emphasized in yesterday’s brutal shooting attacks in the Jordan Valley, in which two Israeli policemen – David Rabinovich (42) and Yechezkel Ramzrkar (50) - were killed by two Palestinian terrorists.
