New alternatives for screening: Spanish experience:Pilot study of rapid test in pharmacies • Implemented in 2 Autonomous Regions: • Basque Country: 20 pharmacies (Alava, Vizcaya, Guipuzcoa) • Catalonia: 36 pharmacies (21 towns - Barcelona) • Anonymous • Consent to the test • Pharmacist training • Rapid test + Counselling • If HIV positive referred to Health System
New alternatives for screening: Spanish experience:Pilot study of rapid test in pharmacies OBJECTIVES: • Increase test coverage • Reduce timing of late diagnosis in risk people • Improve life quality and reduce transmission of HIV infection • Encourage early diagnosis in at risk people (who do not want to access the Health System)
