Conduit pipes are generally used for electrical purposes, conduits protects the electrical wiring from external environment .Most conduits are rigid but flexible conduits are also used for other purposes. It is installed by the electricians at the time of installation of electrical equipment. All conduit are installed with compatible fittings. Conduit develops their powers by absorbing their energy to their relating elements. Electrical conduit are made of different types like plastic or metal or fiber according to needs and purposes. For safety purposes conduit pipe manufacturer used different forms to make the installation better. In modern constructions conduit pipes are remain intact for the life of the building. It is used in offices, residential complexes, shopping mall and various other upcoming projects also. Conduit pipes are installed outside and thus for exterior environment rated use. The different types and uses of conduit are mentioned below:

  3. Rigid metal conduit or RMC: It is the heavy metal conduit among all other conduits and also expensive than other conduits. It is used in outdoors to provide protection damages from external barriers like wind, falling branches and storm damage. Because of its rigidity most utility companies prefer to install it. It also provide support to the electrical cables, panels and other equipment. RMC is sold in 10- and 20-foot lengths and has thread on both ends. Intermediate metal conduit or IMC: It is thinner and light weight conduit of RMC. Because of its same applications as RMC and easy handling it is seen as most common in new construction sites. Electrical metallic tubing or EMT: It is the most commonly made galvanized steel also made of aluminum. EMT is made of thin wall conduit and of light weight and is assembled with watertight fitting and also commonly used in nowadays.

Flexible metallic conduit or FMC: It is also known as “Greenfield” it has spiral construction which can be easily used for making hole inside the wall area.it is usually used for outside works such as installing air condition.
