2. WHO WE ARE… • Over 9,000 members and growing • Members in the United States and Canada with affiliates in South Africa and Japan • 81 Chapters/10 Regions • The only association devoted to the right of way professional

3. Partnering Agreements: • Federal Highway Administration • Federal Aviation Administration • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers • Bureau of Land Management • Federal Transit Administration (conceptually agreed)

Partnering Agreements • Cooperate in efforts to deliver training opportunities to agency employees • Cooperate in areas of education and training to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall training and learning environment • Encourage professional certification of agency personnel • Encourage professional industry association membership and participation

6. Professional Development Initiatives in 2005 • 13 URA seminars developed in conjunction with the FHWA held from Feb – March across the USA (will provide copy of manual) • Special Task Force updating all IRWA courses due to URA changes • Retained “Adult learning consultant” to make recommendations on revamping of courses with goal to revise all existing courses • Educational Strategic Summit planned in 2005 • $200,000 Funding Grant approved

National Conferences • Uniform Act Symposium scheduled for November 7-9, 2005 in Anaheim, CA • 2006 Federal Agency Update scheduled for January 26, Westin Embassy Row, Washington, DC • LPA Symposium – April 1, 2005 in Des Moines, Iowa • IRWA International Education Conference in Toronto, ON – June 13 - 16, 2005

12. Professional Development To provide the right of way professional with the educational tools to enhance their career objectives. In 2004, we sponsored 352 courses with more than 6,400 student enrollments.

13. SR/WA Designation: Senior Member, IRWA Professional designation granted by IRWA to members who have achieved professional status through experience, education and examination.

14. IRWA Certification Program Further effectiveness of the services rendered to the public by the right of way profession. Achieve the aims and purposes of the IRWA by providing a means of recognizing those right of way practitioners who have attained unquestioned professional status in a single discipline.
