Reasons for GHCN-Daily / ACIS Differences • Data values failing GHCN-Daily QC will not be displayed in ACIS products, even if they had previously passed legacy QC. • Likewise, data values passing GHCN-Daily QC will be displayed in ACIS products, even if they had previously failed legacy QC. • GHCN-Daily always provides "original" values. ACIS had previously included NCDC-generated "replacement” values, when available. • observations shifted to correct day of observation • automated or manual generation of replacements for values failing existing QC • When data from both TD3200 and TD3210 are available, GHCN-Daily gives preference to TD3200, whereas ACIS previously gave preference to TD3210. • ACIS Dataset Comparison Tool • http://scacis.rcc-acis.org/ACIS_Compare.html
