Tips to Strengthen Writing • Here are a few tips to strengthen your writing: • Write with an active voice. • Watch for and rewrite run-on sentences or sentences that are too long. • Use strong verbs to minimize the need for adverbs. • Avoid using clichés. • Make sure that subjects and verbs agree. • Use a variety of sentence types. • Choose proper punctuation. • Watch for and use the correct homophone. • Avoid repeating the same words. • Make sure that pronouns agree with their antecedents.
