Knights and Clergy Knights- • The under clothes of a knight consisted of linen under-shirt and linen under-pants. • A padded garment known as am Aketon, Arming Coat or Doublet consisted of a quilted coat, sewn or staffed with linen or even grass. • The last layer of clothing was a Surcoat, tied with a belt around the waist.
