The Importance of Planning • Development of an SEP • Time to graduation and/or transfer • Factors: major, placement levels, goals, full-time vs. part-time, etc. • Course offerings and prerequisites • Planning for adequate study time • 2-3 hours of study time per unit • Example: CHEM 150 (5) MATH 181 (5) ENGL 101 (4) HIST 108 (3) 17 units + 3 hours per unit = 51 hours
