  2. Think about it! • What is the difference in “reverse engineering” and demolition? • Why “reverse engineering?”

  3. Record the following information: • Toy • Purpose • Classifications • Criteria • Number of moving parts • How does it work? • Number of total parts • Positive and Negative aspects • Most valuable part(s) • How will you use what you learned to design & build your toy?

  4. Putting the Pieces Together: Working with another pair do the following: Lay out all parts from your toys. Make a “new” toy using parts from both toys.

  5. Unveiling the “New” Toys… Pick up your “new” toy Place all leftover parts in the blue containers Sit WITH your group of 4 and BESIDE your partner at a TABLE! Turn to your Work Ethics Rubric. On 1 sheet of paper write: 1. names of all group members 2. the name of your “new” toy 3. Classifications of toy including age group 4. the name of the 2 original toys 5. List and rate your “new” toy (1-10) on the following criteria: * Creativity * Safety * Marketability * Durability 6. List and rateeachperson in your group on these work ethics (0 -3) during this project: *Productivity *Communication *Cooperation *Respect *Teamwork *Attitude

  6. CRITICAL THINKING… • On a separate piece of paper: • Write your first and last name • THOROUGHLY answer the following question: • Exit Ticker: What can you transfer from “reverse engineering” & “putting the pieces together” that will help you design and manufacture your toy?

  7. Now it’s Your Turn….. • Choose one of the following classifications and obtain Mrs. Millican’s approval: GIRL TOY, BOY TOY, OR CROSS GENDER TOY • Design a “new” toy that incorporates ideas from a foreign and American made toy. • Using SolidWorks, create and print isometric drawings of your toy. (Make sure they include all measurements)
