3. Drink Driver Statistics Approximately ¼ of all fatal crashes in Victoria involving a driver or rider with an illegal Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC).
18% of all drivers & motorcyclists killed on Victoria's roads over the last year were 0.05 g/100ml or over – majority over three times over limit
BAC of 0.05 – risk of being involved in crash doubles.
BAC of 0.08 – 7 times more likely
BAC of 0.15 – 25 times more likely

Alcohol is responsible for almost ¼ of the people killed on our roads.
26% of deaths on roads are alcohol related
We often hear in the news of cases where the drunk driver has survived and the passengers (up to 3 or 4 in some cases) have been killed.

Increase in police attendance around bars and popular alcohol consumption sites
NON GOVERNMENT:-
Pushing for tough new measures to becomes laws next year including alcohol ignition interlocks, vehicle sanctions and rehabilitation for offenders with serious alcohol problems.
9. Advertising The government and other non-government organizations (TAC etc.) use advertising heavily to reduce impact of drink driving.
ADVERTISING OBJECTIVES:
Reinforce community perceptions about potential consequences of drink driving and the risk of being detected drink driving
Inform the road using community about their legal obligations
Ensure message is clear and understandable to the target audience
