Revelation What you think the word revelation means?
Revelation • Revelation comes from the Latin word ‘revelare’ which means ‘to remove the veil’ • In Christianity it means the realisation of something which was previously unknown, God. • Revelation is communication from God to humans; it is how humans understand God.
Individuals learn certain ‘truths’ about God: • his nature • his will for humanity • his rules
Revelation In groups of 2: Brainstorm what forms you think revelation can take.
Forms revelation can take: • Religious experiences e.g. a dream, vision or near death experience • Scriptures: the Bible • Faith in Action: Following peoples examples • Nature: the world around us and use of reason.
