University Foundation Scholars Program • Choose between Service Learning or Study Abroad and receive a $1500 stipend • Take 2 Foundation Scholars Courses during your first year (one in the fall and one in the winter). • Receive priority registration during your first two years of attendance • Common Living option – Living Center South • Extra Curricular Activities • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA to renew each semester

  6. Hemmeter Elementary Garden Project Major Chords for Minors – Practice Room renovation and soundproofing

In total the students worked hundreds of hours while Moving literally tons of dirt, sand, and woodchips Cleaning and painting hundreds of square feet Planting hundreds of flowers and vegetables Drilling through brick Learning about soundproofing techniques Helping out with the needs of many Saginaw residents

  8. The students also • Helped out Saginaw County Head Start and Early Head Start, the Good Neighbors Mission, the Saginaw Promise Zone, Emmaus House, White Pine Middle School, the Saginaw Children’s Zoo, and the Houghton-Jones Neighborhood Center. • And impacted hundreds of people through their efforts.

Quick Facts: • You can study abroad ANY semester (any duration) • There are faculty led programs in the spring, and full semester/year programs during fall and winter • You can go with a group of other SVSU students or you can blaze a trail on your own • Foreign language is not required (with a couple exceptions) • Over 500 Foundation Scholars have Studied Abroad
