History of Latin • Archaic Latin: 500BC (or so) to 75BC • Plays: Plautus and Terence • Different phonology • Classical Latin: 75BCE to 150AD • Most of the material we will be reading comes from this era • Cicero, Catullus, Vergil, Suetonius • Late Latin: 200AD to 900AD • Administrative language
