  2. In this presentation, we will be investigating how long will it Khalid to save up for a Nintendo Wii and PSP. We shall be presenting numerical, graphical and algebraic representations to find out the accurate length of time to gather money.

  3. The story Khalid asked his parents to lend him money to buy BOTH PSP & Nintendo Wii. His parents disagreed. & told him to ear the money. Khalid began a 12 month program where He’ll work around the neighborhood and working par time at some local stores around the block. He decided to buy ONLY one and comparing which one will be more time consuming and lees work for him to buy.

  9. Algebra • Looking at the horizontal graph last slide; • I identified the allowances patter, it’s +100 to the previous term. • Using 100, if we multiply 100 by the number of month? • For example: Month X 100= Allowance? • That’s the formula: A = M100

  12. Calculation for nintendo • Nintendo price= 1900 QR • Again 1 month=100QR • Divide= 1900/100=19 months • Khalid will need to work for 19 months to gather enough money to buy a nintendowii. (means 12 month program + 7 months).

  13. How much money will khalid need in 7 months?+(12 months) 1 month=100QR 12 months=1200 QR Subtract 1900(nintendo price) by 1200 QR (end money gathered from 12 months). =700 Khalid will need 700 QR in 7 months to be able to buy a Nintendo Wii+12 month program money. Nintendo Wii calculation

  14. Calculation for PSP • PSP price= 1500 QR • Again 1 month=100QR • Divide= 1500/100=15 months • Khalid needs to work 15 months to earn enough money to buy a PSP. 9 (means 3 months plus 12 month program).

  15. How much money will khalid need in 3 months?+12 months 1 month=100QR 12 months=1200 Subtract 1500(psp price) by 1200 =300 Khalid will need 300 QR in 3 months to be able to buy a PSP+12 month program money. PSP calculation

  16. Conclusion • Khalid will need to extend his program: • Either to buy a nintendowii= • Takes 19 months (increasing 100 QR every month, without spending). • Khalid will need to work for 15 months to buy a PSP to gather 1500 QR. (with allowance 100 for 15 months, NO SPENDING).
