  4. So what is it? Easy to remember riding strategy Riding not a passive activity; requires Visual, Cognitive and Motor Skills Places responsibility on you, the rider, to reduce risk

  5. Riding your motorcycle YOU are the variable! Ridingyour motorcycle well

  6. Where to Search for hazards: • Traffic controls • Road/Surface/Weather • Other Road Users What can impeded our Visual ability? • Unprotected eyes • Poor lighting at night • Aging • Tailgating • Other?

  7. How to Evaluate? • “What if…” Game • Get best result by predicting worst outcome What to Think About: • Traffic controls • Road/Surface/Weather • Other Road Users

AMA/MSF have missed opportunity; seem to blame everyone but the rider • 80% of crashes due to distractions • Use phone on your motorcycle? 4x more likely to crash • Communicators, can they affect safety? What can impeded our ability to Evaluate? • General Distractions • Cell phones/ communicators
