  3. Comenius Regio Partnership – Ref. n.º 2011 – 1 – GB1 – COM13 – 10859 MCMC Meeting the Challenge of the Multicultural Classroom Southwark (UK) and the Algarve (PT) 2011 - 2013 • Our borough’s first 2 year collaborative EU project • New opportunity despite the economic downturn

  4. What its meant for our region: • More opportunities (for travel, in-service, growth, perspective) • More engagement—with others locally & abroad (schools, pupils, teachers, Goldsmiths, etc) • More inspiration.... MCMC

  16. As well as immediate impact: The success of MCMCactivities has helped strengthen our sense of international engagement We’ve: • initiated other European in-service. E.g. 2 Heads group visits (--to Finland and to Sweden) • successfully applied for our 2nd Regio (with the Canary Islands) • applied for 2 further Regio projects for 2013 –2015 (--on School Radio with the Algarve & on Leadership with Jarfalla, SE)
