  2. Overview Overview The purpose of this guide is to provide step by step instructions on how to create, connect and disconnect a VPN connection. This guide assumes you are using Windows 7 Pro. Why use a VPN? A VPN connection or “Virtual private network” allows you to create a secure, encrypted tunnel between your computer and the server, giving you access to resources on your network. www.azuz.it

  3. 1A. Creating the VPN Open network connections Right click the network icon and choose “Open Network and Sharing Center” www.azuz.it

  4. 1B. Set up a new connection Set up a new connection or network Connect to a workplace > Next www.azuz.it

  5. 1C. Create new connection No, create new connection > Next Use my Internet connection (VPN) www.azuz.it

  6. 1D. Entering network & credentials Copy the screen settings below > Next Enter your credentials > Create www.azuz.it

  7. 1E. Complete and close Do not connect now > Close Network sharing center > Change adapter settings www.azuz.it

  8. 1F. Change adapter settings Right click VPN connection > Properties Match the following settings (note PPTP) > OK www.azuz.it

  9. 2A. Connecting on the VPN left Click network connections www.azuz.it

  10. 2B. Connecting on the VPN Select the connection you created > Connect Click connect www.azuz.it

  11. 2C. Ensuring correct connection The following should appear after connecting After this message disappears you are connected www.azuz.it

  12. 3A. Disconnecting from the VPN left Click network connections Click disconnect www.azuz.it
