WG Legends recommendations • GLC partners use the FAO LCCS as a common means with which to establish the legend for their region • the minimum set of classifiers agreed during the workshop be adopted • these be developed into a minimum “target” legend • this should be forwarded to the users for comment

  3. Recommendations cont. • comments from the users will be communicated to the WG • the environmental attributes in LCCS should be checked by the WG • a common set of environmental attributes should be agreed upon • the WG Chair will ensure communication links

  4. WG Methods and WG Validation • Partners should confirm participation and nominate WG members (by end January 2001) • WG methods will meet in Ispra before end March 2001 • The WG mandate will be to recommend a set of methods or at least a minimum set of guidelines and for ancillary data • WG validation will meet in Ispra before end 2001

  5. GLC 2000 plenary • Plenary should meet in Autumn 2001 in Antwerp • resolve remaining partnership issues • decide on level of use of high resolution data • Validation only • Land Cover area estimates on a regional / national level • formalise involvement of interpretation and validation partners (in country)
