Summary [1 of 2] • Task Group 1 (TG1) is deriving a draft standard from the Bluetooth™ specification under IEEE PAR 802.15.1 • After Session #15, we attended the 4-5Dec01 IEEE-SA StdBd Committee Meetings (PatCom, RevCom) in NYC USA. • PatCom reviewed the Bluetooth LOA and accepted it. • RevCom reviewed the Application for approval of P802.15.1 –01/462r1a and it was disapproved (see notes on this slide). • After the RevCom meeting our Ballot Review Committee (BRC) was assembled to review and respond to the comments.   4. Summary [2 of 2] • The BRC submitted the recirculation package and on 17Jan02 we closed our 10-day Std. 802.15.1/D1.0.1 Second Recirc. (SB3). It passed 27/2/2 or 93%. 2 Balloters submitted comments, we will provide rebuttal. • TG1 is not planning to meet during Session #16/Dallas. • During the Jan02/Mar02 between-session-period • SB3 resubmission to RevCom. • Attend the 19-21Mar02 IEEE-SA Std Board Committee Meetings in Piscataway, NJ USA. This ballot has met the 75% returned ballot requirement. • 33 eligible people in this ballot group. • 26 affirmative votes • 3 negative votes • 1 abstention votes • 30 votes received • 90% returned • 3% abstention • 2. Generalization of Negative Comments • Proposed standard operates in the same band as 802.11 • Coexistence not addressed • Optional power level of 100mw • Normative vs. Informative SDL • Technical disagreements (how it works vs. how it might work better) • Further clarification on negatives and reply to some of the BRC rebuttals.
