Pierce County CALI System Animal Services Officer Testimonial On January 28th, 2009, we received our first complaint in the Tacoma area for deceased, injured, and sick animals at a location. We discovered shortly that the owner had several different addresses. We worked with the owner and after time the owner moved and did not update the info with us. A short time goes by and we receive more complaints that are the same: deceased, sick, and injured animals at a location in Graham. After contacting the owner, we soon discovered it was the same individual that we have dealt with before. The last dealings with the address was to assist the bank and the Pierce County Health Department. The bank foreclosed on the property and asked us to come out investigate deceased animals on the property. We went out to discover that there were at least 75 deceased animals on the property in black plastic bags. We are currently trying to find the animal owner.Without having the CALI system there would have been no way for us to link all this information together. Having the system allows us to keep records of individual people, as well as addresses that we have complaints on for further investigation. It is also a good tool for officer safety having the history.
