We have already learned that: • Preventing fire is the most important thing - but if a fire does happen in your home, you need to be able to get out immediately, and make sure your whole family knows how to get out. Fire is very hot, very dark, and moves very fast - so every second counts.

Where should your smoke alarms be placed in your home? Dining Room Bedroom Bedroom Kitchen Bedroom Living Room
Test your smoke alarms by pushing the test button. If the alarm does not beep - replace the battery immediately.
If you cannot reach your smoke alarm - use a broom handle to push the button.
Smoke alarm batteries should be changed twice every year - once in the spring and once in the fall. Even if they are not old. • Spring Forward - Fall Back • When you change your clocks - change your smoke alarm batteries • If you smoke alarm begins to beep periodically, and there is no smoke present - change the battery immediately
