Chemical Equilibrium • Chemical Equilibrium is the state during a reversible chemical reaction when the rate of forward reaction is equal to the rate of reverse reaction. • At Equilibrium there is no tendency for the quantities of reactants and products to change provided that equilibrium is not distrubed.

  3. Example • It is a same chemical reaction in which roles of the components are reversed, and both yield the same equilibrium composition.

  4. The equilibrium composition is independent of the direction from which it is approached.
