As part of its extensive programme of social responsibility, Sovcomflot (SCF) dedicates funding to equip classrooms at two of the leading naval academies in Russia. Sovcomflot further provides resources for the practical training of cadets studying at these institutions. SCF Group Training Sovcomflot makes provisions for cadets to access training through both SCF Group training centres and SCF Group vessels. Sovcom- flot has supported the Nadezhda and Mir training ships for several years and a unique training ship developed as part of the Far East- ern Floating University from the Russian Geographical Society. The ship, called the Professor Houston, has the capacity to provide practi- cal training for as many as 100 ca- dets at a time. Victor Olerskiy
International Events Along with support for naval educa- tion, Sovcomflot further supports a variety of high-profile international events in support of Russian en- trants. These include the sailing regattas known as the Tall Ship Races held in the Black and Baltic Seas and individual events such as the 2012 Vladivostok APEC Summit and EXPO-2010. Sovcomflot has a series of pro- grammes for social responsibility, focusing on healthcare and educa- tion, the environment and heritage protection. Victor Olerskiy
