Lacrosse Carly Chafin , Glen Este High School, 10th grade.. Special thanks to the students who took their time to fill out the survey. Conclusion: I have found that girls were a lot less interested in lacrosse as in playing it and learning about it. Now they would attend games if there was a team at school. Boys on the other hand, I have found that they are a lot more excepting to learning a new sport and playing it. So if there was a team at school it would be a lot more beneficial as a boys sport. But I would thank that if it was introduced as a sport here that girls would be interested in playing. Empirical Research Project How did you collect data: I collected my by creating a survey to hand out to students at Glen Este High School. Raw data: This graph shows the results of both boys and girls. Background research: I had found that in high schools around the Cincinnati area that offer lacrosse to girls that it is a very popular sport for them, The same goes for boys. When I surveyed people I wanted it to be a variety of people and not just athletes because I knew that they would be interested in lacrosse. I knew after research that lacrosse is a very popular sport with girls and that most want to try it, so I was shocked after the conclusion of my results. Boys also do like lacrosse because of the fast paced, hard hits, and lots of scoring. So I wasn’t surprised to find the results that I did.
