  2. At the Beginning… • Career- Special education teacher • School- Undecided • After conducting interviews and research I have decided to go to St. Josephs College and become a special education teacher

  3. College • St Josephs College • My tuition $30,408.00 • Degree is special education with a cross endorsement in elementary education • Possible minor in English

  4. College (cont.) • The credit requirements for this degree are thirty nine credits. • For a special education major you need a minimum GPA of a 2.67 • Student teaching done in junior year. • First day of classes which is August 27,2012

  5. Career • Four years of college. • Most effective interview was Danielle Sandoval. • Benefits- weekends off, vacation for federal holidays.

  6. Finances • Grants: • Federal SEOG -$5000 a year • Saint Joseph College Grant -$1,300 a year • Connecticut Independent College Grant -$2000 a year • Total: $8,300 a year

  7. Finances (Cont) • Loans: • Direct Subsidized Loan -$3,500 a year • Direct Unsubsidized Loan -$2,000 a year • Work Study -$1,800 a year • Total $7,300 a year
