In the past we focused on a “high touch” ministry that sought to touch as many inmates as possible through Bible studies, seminars, special programs and the like.
Now God is calling us to go deep in the lives of men and women who desire to see their lives transformed by the power of Christ.
We want to work with those who are ready to allow the Spirit of God to change them from the inside out in such a way that they are able to live victorious Christian lives that allow them to not only break the cycle of recidivism but become active ambassadors for God in their communities.
We understand that for this to happen we must move away from a program oriented and activity based ministry that centers on the completion of a series of materials or attendance at various events and embrace a whole new paradigm for ministry.
We are no longer interested in just providing a smorgasbord of programs that are “checked off” in a sporadic fashion. We are strategically providing a holistic menu of ministry solutions through communities of care that meet the deep needs of an individual on their journey of transformation and reconciliation.
Our goal is to facilitate TDR by discovering, training, networking and encouraging a community of care that supports an inmate and their family on their journey to spiritual maturity, fruitfulness and integration back into society. Though various studies and materials may be used along the journey, this is to be relationally based and not program oriented—measured by objective outcomes and not just activities.
Transformational Prison Ministry Transformational Discipleship & Reconciliation (TDR) Framework
Transformational discipleship is an intentional approachof equipping peopleto demonstrate Christ-like thinking, behavior and relationships
Transformational Discipleship and Reconciliation is not a destination,it’s a Journey….
Guiding Principles For Transformational Prison Ministry Everything is done through the filters of Spiritual Transformation and Reconciliation Address Criminogenic Issues Focus on the needs of the prisoner Accomplished Through Community Biblically Grounded Focused On Outcomes Solution Oriented Relationally Based
The TDR Journey has very specific milestones in the context of a prisoner’s incarceration “life cycle”
Biblical Values instilled along the TDR journey Transformed Mind: Truth Transformed Character: Integrity Affirmation Transformed Relationships: Fellowship Responsibility Reconciliation/ Restoration Transformed Service: Productivity Transformed Influence: Discipleship
For TDR to be most effective it must be “Life-On-Life” We see ourselves uniquely positioned to be able to facilitate, build, equip and network “communities of care” that will partner with inmates and their families along the TDR Journey
Collaboration We CANNOT do this ourselves We must collaborate with others We must think “we” not “me” Teams are not an option Teams must go beyond an Org. Chart mentality and become a network of communities of care
