Culmination: The Big Goal • 100% Culminate on stage • We have to know the requirements: • Read through the letter and complete the summary and goal setting on the sheet of paper. • If you finish early….. • 1) Ask Mrs. Avila for a computer to complete HHSA survey • 2) Prepare for Binder Check-Update Agenda, Complete notes, especially in Math, hole-[unch and organize papers, sticky note items to be checked.

September 20th, 2012IWBAT research one of the food groups. Homework: Start Food Journal. • Dispatch: • On pg. 4: List 5 foods you love to eat that you know are not good for you and list 5 foods you eat that are good for you.
What are we supposed to eat??? • A healthy balance of the major food groups and limits on high fat/ high sugar/high calorie foods. • Your team will be responsible for researching one of the major food groups, taking notes on it, and creating an informational poster to present to the class.
Your poster must include: • The title of your food group (big) • 2-3 pictures representing examples of that group • Major nutrients • Benefits/Warnings to eating that group • Portion size-in words or pictures • 1-2 other interesting facts • A slogan for people to say and help them remember this group.
Food Journal • Fill this in for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday • Do not worry about the calories section, unless you can get that off the label properly.
A few choices to become healthier • Cut out some of the soda and replace it with water • Minimize sugar intake (candy, soda, etc) • Stay active ( minimum of 30 mins/day) • Exercise • Moderation is key • 2 cookies not 12 • Fast food 1-2/week not 3 times/ day • Reduce salt intake • Remember to eat breakfast!
