User Readiness Planning • Approach • System by system, working with Ground, Flight, and Program and relevant NOAA and/or NWS contacts to • Identify users and user groups • Identify changes in GOES-R to that system • Prepare awareness, communication, and training plans and schedules to bring users up to speed • Systems • Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System (CLASS) • Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) • Environmental Satellite Processing Center Product Distribution and Access (ESPC PDA) • GOES Rebroadcast (GRB)
User Readiness Planning • User Readiness Plan • Communications and training needs and approaches from the NOAA/NWS side • User System Readiness Plan • Awareness of NOAA/NWS efforts plus training, simulators, and end-to-end testing activities from the GS side • Other Program/Project Science Activities • Proving Ground • GOES User Conference • Satellite Direct Readout Conference • Product User Guide • Presentations at relevant meetings such as AMS
User Readiness Planning • Status • Approach to gathering information and reporting on User System Readiness Plan approved • Working on status for each system now • User Readiness Plan in development • Schedules, training, and other pertinent information to be developed • For USRP, target is late spring/early summer • For URP, target is early summer (?) • Will put info on readiness activities on the GOES-R web site as it becomes available.
