2005 - 2006 • Partners In Health (PIH) AIDS program is funded in Rwanda by the William J. Clinton Foundation • PIH provides access to quality rural health care for approximately 200,000 people in Lesotho

2012 • Dr. Farmer is appointed to serve as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Community Based Medicine and Lessons From Haiti
2013 • Dr. Farmer is named U.N. Special Advisor for Haiti Cholera Efforts • PIH continues to provide and expand Community Health Services in the most impoverished areas
