PHILOSOPHY Addiction is a symptom of divided self; an unhealthy dependence on substances or compulsive activities to provide a temporary sense of wholeness and well-being. It is a "dis-ease" of body, mind, soul and spirit. Recovery therefore requires an integrative approach.
MISSION To bring as many souls as possible back to discover their passion and purpose through an integrative recovery model.
TREATMENT APPROACH Beit T’Shuvah is a unique community promoting an integrative recovery model that includes a blend of spirituality, cognitive behavioral therapy, 12-step philosophy and the creative arts.

THERAPY & COUNSELING • 16 hours of gambling specific group therapy weekly • Weekly individual therapy & counseling • CBT • DBT • Mindfulness-based relapse prevention • Somatic therapy • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing • Motivational therapy
SPIRITUAL COUNSELING • To nurture our clients’ spirituality we hold: • Weekly individual spiritual counseling • Group study of spiritual texts and teachings • 12 step support through Gamblers Anonymous (GA), Criminals and Gangsters Anonymous (CGA), and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
CAREER COUNSELING • Staffed by counselors to help clients find passion and purpose in recovery through an assessment process directed towards: • Gainful employment • Educational/vocational training • Resume preparation • Interviewing skills • Assistance with applying for schools and financial aid.
FINANCIAL REPAIR • Individual sessions with a financial planner, aiding the gambler in clearing their negative credit history • Learning to budget within the confines of earned income • Addressing the anxiety and shame of the gambler’s financial wreckage • Building the framework for a healthy relationship with money
WELLNESS As with any addiction, physical and spiritual wellness can help reduce the onset of cravings and greatly reduce the rate of relapse. A focus on wellness can be especially helpful in early recovery. • Meditation • Acupuncture • Physical fitness • Yoga • Surf therapy • Art • Chess club • Pilates • Nutrition classes
ARTS Beit T’Shuvah prides itself in being one of the first treatment programs to utilize the power of creativity. To rekindle our clients’ creative pursuits, we offer a plethora of options: • Music department that includes a recording studio • Drama group • Theatre junkies group • Art therapy • Creative writing workshop.
FAMILY EDUCATION • Six-week program for the family of the gambler that begins with education related to the etiology of the gambling pathology and the roles all members of the family play in this system. • Group therapy that provides support and process for the family as the individuals make trusting attachments to each other.
FAMILY PROCESS/SUPPORT • Upon completion of 6 weeks of family education program: • Family joins with resident in family group therapy in a safe and supportive environment with other affected families. • Weekly group session that focuses on establishing group alliance, recognition and modeling that is produced by the interaction.
FAMILY & COUPLES COUNSELING • Gambling addiction can leave a wake of destruction in all aspects of a person’s life, but its toll on the family unit can be particularly severe. • Specific issues are uncovered during treatment, families and couples begin to work through them in individual therapeutic sessions
NEUROFEEDBACK • . • Our Neurofeedback Program : • uses state-of-the-art brain imaging techniques • fully recognizes and trains neurological deficits • The integration of neurofeedback and therapy provides the client with the ability to reach their full potential in recovery, showing a reduction in anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, and relapse rate
