TT1000 Water Sensing Cable 0.24 in. (6.0 mm) Continuity wire Sensing wires (2) Signal wire © 1996 Raychem Corporation
TT1100-OHP Water Sensing Cable Feature Benefit Wicking action, dirt protection - but longer drying times More flexible than fluoropolymer core (TT1000) – polyester rope / polyethylene core are not plenum rated Easy to trace pipe • Polyester rope over braid (Black w/Yellow Tracer) • PE core • Pre-terminated or cut to length
TraceTek 3000 Aqueous Chemicals 0.24 in. (6.0 mm) Continuity wire Sensing wires (2) Signal wire © 1997 Raychem Corporation
TT5000 Series for Nonconductive Liquids TT5000 for fuels and oils TT5001 for organic solvents
TT5000-HUV Fuel Sensing Cable Feature Benefit Extra UV Protection Stronger, easier to handle compared to TT5000 Improved crush resistance makes it easier to strap to pipe Easy to match pipe system • Polyester rope over braid (Black w/ Red Tracer) • Pre-terminated or cut to length
What about TT5001 –HUV and –HS? Yes they exist Benefit Same as TT5000 series -HS yields better pull strength and lower friction needed for long slotted conduit pulls -HUV has enhanced UV protection and is suitable for more rugged handling above ground • TT5001-HS (White PE over braid w/ purple tracer) • TT5001-HUV (Black polyester w/ purple tracer) • Limited release
TraceTek 7000 Sulfuric and Nitric Acid 0.24 in. (6.0 mm) Continuity wire Sensing wires (2) Signal wire © 1997 Raychem Corporation
TT7000–HUV Feature Benefit Sensor can be exposed to rain, snow, salt water spray --- and no false alarms Electrode coating dissolves when exposed to strong sulfuric or nitric acid and sensor detects and locates point of contact Enhanced UV protection, rugged handling • ‘Water-proof’ electrodes with acid soluble coating • Black polyester over braid No Tracer
TTSIM-1 • Maximum range, maximum accuracy. • 1500 meters (5000 ft) • 20 bit A/D • Precision control of sensitivity • Compatible with all TraceTek cables and probes • Can also interface to other devices which signal an alarm with a closed contact • Serial Data Out: • Modbus RTU/ASCII • N2 Open (JCI)
TTSIM-1A • Moderate Range and Accuracy with Relay Output • 150 meters (500ft) • Compatible with all TraceTek cables and probes • Can also interface to other devices which signal an alarm with a closed contact • Serial Data Out: • Modbus RTU/ASCII • N2 Open (JCI) • Relay Contact for Local Use • 3A Form-C relay for leak alarm and trouble (if desired) • NEW MICROPROCESSOR
TTSIM-2 • Moderate Range, Built In Location Display • 150 meters (500 ft) • 3 Digit Display for Leak Location • Compatible with all TraceTek cables and probes • Can also interface to other devices which signal an alarm with a closed contact • Serial Data Out: • Modbus RTU/ASCII • N2 Open (JCI) • Relay Contact for Local Use • 3A Form-C relay for leak alarm and trouble (if desired) • NEW MICROPROCESSOR
TTC-1 • Limited Length applications • 30m (100 Ft) • Two relays • One for leak detection • One for trouble • Simple status indication • Low input voltage • AC or DC
Battery Powered Flasher • This unit uses high efficiency LED’s that can be easily seen when a leak is detected. • When the sensor is contacted by the fuel or oil, the LED’s will begin to flash at one second interval. • Flashing will continue for at least 30 days (much longer in early years) • 5 to 10 year battery life
TT-TAR Transducer 2-wire 4-20 mA Output
Emerson/Rosemount Type 702-61 Transmitters 150 m of TT5000 or TT50001 And/Or Up to three TT-FFS Probes Up to 100 transmitters • Output to: • TTDM-128 • New Touch Screen (when released) • Direct to DCS software • Also works with TT7000 and TT3000
Accutech? • Hub and Spoke Type Wireless • Lower Cost the Emerson • Focused on production: well heads, gathering lines, field pumps, etc • Looks to be a simple interface • Still in early discussion
Detecting water leaks in commercial buildings and control rooms
TT1100-OHP installed in Madrid AirportPipe Tunnel Similar project underway in Berlin using TT1100-THIN
TT5000-HUV installed at Port of Townsville Australia Next large TT5000-HUV project ready to ship to Vopak in Rotterdam in February 2011 ~4 km in terminal piping
Leak Detection for Buried Valves with TT 5000 in Canada and US
Above Ground Storage Applications Buncefield Tank Farm, UK, December 2005. Overfill and undetected leak of unleaded gasoline
Tank Farm Critical Scenarios Total (France) Study 1997 to 2006 297 Incidents studied – 10 scenarios identified – 5 scenarios would have been managed better with fuel leak detection systems • Tank Overfill (probe solution) • Tank Roof leaks (probe solution) • Mixer, flange, valve or pipe work leak (probe solution) • Roof drain and tank drain failure (probe solution) • Fractured tank (cable solution)
Quickly detect a fuel spill in time to activate the emergency response plan FFS probes installed at low point sump for Total Tank Farm, France
Prevention measure: liquid detection systems under the bottom plate or in the service void : sensing cables buried within slotted pipes 5. Fractured tank fractured bottom plate, => large spill => Ground subsidence => bund explosion / fire => tank fire

Tank Bottom Monitoring with TT5000 and TT-FlasherIn US, France, Spain, Belgium and UAE
Range of Options for Tank Farms • Manual Inspection • Hand Held: TT-FFS Test Instrument, PTB • TT-FLASHER-BE • Low Cost – still manual but easy to detect • Two wire • 4 – 20 ma useful for retro fit if two wire circuits are available • Emerson Mesh • Greatly reduce wiring cost compared to traditional 4 wire • New TTDM software upgrade available for Emerson Gateway • Standard TraceTek 4-wire • Best overall for longer lengths • Only method that reports leak location automatically
