  2. FDR before presidency • He was born on January 30, 1882 in New York • For high school, he attended Groton Boarding School • He went to Harvard College • Was married to his wife Eleanor on March 17, 1905 and had 6 kids

  3. Other professions • He was the 44th governor of New York from 1929-1932 • An assistant secretary of navy from 1913-1920 • A member of New York Senate from 1911-1913

  4. Election of 1932 • He was the 32nd president • He was a democratic • “I pledge you, I pledge myself to a new for the American people, this is more than a political campaign. It’s a call to arms.” • He won 57% of the vote

  5. Life in Office • He was in office from March 4, 1933- April 12, 1945 • He was in office during the time of the Great Depression

  6. Indian Reorganization Act • It allowed Indians to use there culture and traditions. • This act replaced the Dawes Act. • The act was established in 1934 • Another name for this act is the Wheeler-Howard Act

  7. More on the act • The act was established on June 18, 1934 • The leader was John Collier • It turns out that the act was doing more harm than good to the natives • In 1936 was when Alaska tribes were added to the act
