Nouns are parts of speech that name people, places, and things. We always say, “If you can count it, it’s a noun.”
Concrete nouns name people, places or things that can be perceived by the senses. We can count concrete nouns.Examples: bike, house, sun, Billy Bob, teacher, mountain, glass
Abstract Nouns name ideas, beliefs, qualities, or concepts – things that cannot be perceived by the senses.Examples: freedom, confidence, joy, wealth, beauty, mood, existence
Singular possessive are nouns that are owned by one person or one group.Examples: uncle’s address parrot’s food James’s notebook story’s plot
Plural Possessive Nouns indicate ownership by more than one person or group.Examples: teenagers’ concerns peoples’ homes Munniers’ driveway countries’ leaders
