Funding opportunities with in FP7 • research infrastructure I3 action within program Capacities • three types of activities: TA, JRA, NA • suggested activities need to strengthen the European RI • program EUROATOM • other options • ERANET action • e-libraries Dimiter L. FP7 RI-I3 schedule • in March 2007 EURONS/EURISOL Town meeting • Program Committee was appointed • in April LoIs for different EURONS/EURISOL • activities were asked (deadline June 15, 2007) • Letters of Intent are to be presented at the • Helsinki Town meeting in September 2007 • Writing Committee and its Chair are to be elected • at the Helsinki Town meeting • RI-I3 Call for proposals is expected in November 2007 • RI-I3 projects to be funded in 2008 Note: for FP7 NuPECC insisted that the community follows a bottom-up approach Dimiter L. Ideas for NA LoI for a European NSDD network • nuclear masses are a priority: Orsay (others?) • interest in horizontal evaluations: Bucharest, GSI, Sofia • mass-chain evaluations: Sofia, … (others on condition that EC funding for postdoc positions exists) • actions and events: • in November D.Lunney and D.L.B contacted B. Fulton • and submitted a LoI to NuPECC • in February NuPECC discussed the case • in March D.L.B. contacted Dr. Passini, RI in EC • in April mass evaluation “crisis” began • in May D. Lunney decided to initiate a LoI on mass measurements and mass evaluations Dimiter L. Balabanski, NSDD meeting, St. Peterburg

Possible partners in a European NSDD network • Mass-chain evaluations • Sofia (2-3 persons part time) • Bucharest (1 person part time provided some EC funding exists) • others (Surrey, … provided EC funding for positions exists) • Horizontal evaluations • masses – Orsay will ask EC funding for a post-doc position • charged radii, 1qp and 2qp bands, B(E2)’s – interest exists Dimiter L.
