With Immense amounts of data available from satellite observations, sophisticated models and inversion algorithms have been developed and a series of satellite products have been generated. This meeting will assess the current progress and identify the future research directions of land remote sensing. Both experimental, potential and operational land products are relevant, including surface radiation and energy budget components (e.g., incident solar radiation, albedo, emissivity, skin temperature, net radiation, sensible and latent heat fluxes), biophysical variables (e.g., LAI/FPAR, fractional vegetation coverage, canopy biochemical properties, canopy profiles, biomass, GPP/NPP), hydrological variables (e.g., soil moisture, snow water equivalent, water storage), and land cover and land use changes. Both review and technical papers are solicited on modeling and inversion/mapping algorithms, production, validation, and utilization of these relevant land surface products.
