Abigail: “I am but God's finger, John. If he would condemn Elizabeth, she will be condemned.” • This Indicates that Abigail believes she can justify her accusations as it is in the name of god. She is of course hiding a secret Agenda that it appears only John Proctor is aware of.
Abigail Williams: “My name is good in the village! Elizabeth Proctor is an envious, gossipy liar! “ • Abigail begins to use her manipulative powers as she turns on Elizabeth Proctor. This quote is also quite Ironic as it seems as if Abigail is describing herself in her attack on Elizabeth
Abigail Williams: “Satan may reach anyone sir” • Throughout the play it is Abigail's role to increase and promote the hysteria within the village , the higher the panic the more number of irrational accusations take place and the more powerful Abigail becomes in the village.
Abigail:” Let *you* beware, Mr. Danforth. Do you think yourself so mighty the Devil may not turn *your* wits? “ In this quote Abigail is implying that no one is safe from her accusations as she makes a direct threat towards Mr Danforth. Once again she is challenging the authority in the Village.
