Aim : How can we cooperatively compare elements of varied cultures’ creation myths? • Do Now: The Greeks explained the existence of evil in the world through the myth (part of the creation myth) of Pandora’s Box. • If you could create a modern form of Pandora’s Box for our world, what would you put in the box. • List at least five items, emotions, or people and explain your choices.

Group Creation Myth Activity • In your group complete the following: • Select three creation stories from the group. • For each creation story make a list of 4-5 main points revealed in the myths. • Write down two to three common elements that exist across the three myths you have selected. • Discuss why you believe these commonalities exist. • Finally, discuss what each myth reveals about the culture from which it originated.

  7. HW # 3 • Write a paragraph response to the following: • Imagine that you could be a Greek god, goddess, or hero. Discuss what your name would be, your domain of power, and the special powers you would like to possess. Explain why you have made these choices.
